The application for a residence permit in France
Holders of an entry and long-stay visa marked “Carte de séjour to be solicited on arrival in France” must contact the French prefectoral authority of their place of residence, in order to submit an application for residence card within two months after entering French territory.
Family members of a national of the EU Member States, EEA or Switzerland wishing to apply for a residence card “family member of a Union citizen” should contact the competent French prefectural authority to submit their application for a residence permit within three months of their entry into French territory.
Holders of a long-stay visa bearing the mention “Ceseda R311-3” must contact the OFII as soon as they arrive in France.
